Amalienstraße is a creative university-quarter setting close to the Pinakothek museums and the English Garden. Theresienstraße sits at the premium eastern end by Ludwigstraße, Odeonsplatz, LMU and the Hofgarten. Between them they cover most of what a central Munich address can be asked to do.
- Altstadt-Lehel is the historic centre. Maximilianstraße 2 faces the Bavarian State Opera on Max-Joseph-Platz, beside the Residenz and a short walk from Marienplatz and the professional-services firms of the old town. It is the clearest choice for a business that puts a landmark, client-facing address first.

The notary remains responsible for certifying and filing the registration.
Which address goes on a Munich Gewerbeanmeldung?
A Gewerbeanmeldung records your Betriebsstätte – the address where the business is actually carried on (§ 14 GewO) – so give the address that reflects how your business operates. For a Betriebsstätte in Munich, the filing goes to the citywide Kreisverwaltungsreferat (KVR) and can be started online with a BayernID. Can I use it with the Finanzamt and in my Impressum?
Yes. You can use the address as your Geschäftsanschrift for Finanzamt registration and correspondence and as the serviceable address in a commercial website’s Impressum under § 5 DDG. The address does not by itself establish a tax Betriebsstätte or place of management, and the rest of the Impressum remains your responsibility.
