    Can I use an Olea address for my Handelsregister filing?

    Yes. Your GmbH or UG must state an inländische Geschäftsanschrift in its Handelsregister application under § 8 Abs. 4 GmbHG, and an Olea location can be that address. It is a real staffed street address where official documents can be received, and after the pre-formation review you receive a Nutzungsüberlassungserklärung confirming your right to use it.

    Can I publish the address in my company’s Impressum?

    Yes. Once your GmbH or UG is registered, its commercial website must show a serviceable address alongside the details required for its legal form under § 5 DDG. You can publish your Olea address as that address, so the company meets the requirement without publishing a founder’s home address.

    Can I use the address for the Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung?

    Yes. After registration your company completes the Fragebogen zur steuerlichen Erfassung to obtain its Steuernummer, and you can give your Olea address as its Geschäftsanschrift there and for ongoing Finanzamt correspondence. The address does not by itself establish a German Betriebsstätte or Ort der Geschäftsleitung – those follow from where management and business activity genuinely take place.

Your selected mail option – a digital mailbox at every location, with pickup or recurring forwarding where the location offers it – is fully active once the company is registered and Olea confirms your setup is complete.

    Yes. Banks, payment providers and marketplaces check a company’s registered business address during onboarding, and you can give your Olea address for that purpose. Olea provides a real German street address, evidence of your right to use it, and receipt of posted verification letters. Each provider runs its own checks, so approval remains their decision.

  • Notary appointment soon

    If your notary appointment is soon, complete Olea’s setup before it. The notary needs your address for the Handelsregister application, and you can give it once Olea has approved your pre-formation setup. How long the review takes depends on receiving complete information, so where you can, book the appointment after that.

  • Founders abroad

    The address and Olea’s setup are completed online. German notaries can carry out many GmbH and UG formations by video – your notary confirms whether yours qualifies and what they need from you.

  • Managed from abroad

    That works. If the directors run the company from abroad, the Olea address is the company’s inländische Geschäftsanschrift for the register and official post. Where the company is actually managed is a separate question, decided by where the directors make the day-to-day decisions – not by the address.

  • Bank account before registration

    You can give the Olea address when you open the account for the company in formation. The Certificate of Right to Use (Nutzungsüberlassungserklärung) is available once Olea has approved your pre-formation setup. Each bank runs its own checks and decides on the account.

  • Post before registration

    Once Olea approves your pre-formation setup, eligible letters in the approved name of the company in formation are received at your address – including the register court’s notice you need for the last step of setup. Your chosen mail option is fully active once the company is registered and setup is complete.

  • Address in the articles?

    No. The articles name only the town or municipality of the seat. The full street address goes into the Handelsregister application your notary prepares, so you choose it separately – and can change it later without amending the articles.

What is the inländische Geschäftsanschrift?

A GmbH or UG must state a domestic German business address in its Handelsregister application. The address is where the company can be reached for official correspondence and service. It must be a street address rather than a post-office box. An Olea location can be used as this inländische Geschäftsanschrift because it provides a real German office address and the operating arrangements needed to receive correspondence there.

The registered business address is not the same thing as every other legal or tax concept connected with a company. A company can have a German registered address while its actual management takes place elsewhere. The Finanzamt assesses Ort der Geschäftsleitung and Betriebsstätte from where management and business activity genuinely occur, not from the address label alone.

  • How does setup work before and after registration?

    Choose your address and provide details about you and the planned company. Once Olea approves the pre-formation setup, you can use the address to form your company. Your notary handles the notarisation and Handelsregister filing. After registration, upload the final company documents to complete your Olea setup and activate your selected ongoing mail service. Registration timing is controlled by the notary and Handelsregister; Olea’s review timing depends on receiving complete information.

  • Does Olea guarantee that the Handelsregister will accept my filing?

    No. Olea provides a real German business address and supporting address evidence where needed. Your notary remains responsible for the filing, and the Handelsregister may request additional information before deciding whether to record the company.

  • Can the Olea location be our Satzungssitz?

    The Satzungssitz is the town or municipality named in your articles, not a street address. You can choose the municipality of your Olea location, and the Olea address is then the full inländische Geschäftsanschrift entered in the register. The address on its own does not make that place your Verwaltungssitz.

  • Does a UG use the address the same way?

    Yes. A UG (haftungsbeschränkt) needs an inländische Geschäftsanschrift just as a GmbH does, and the setup at Olea is the same. The capital and reserve rules differ, which your notary explains.

  • Which address goes on the Gewerbeanmeldung?

    A Gewerbeanmeldung records your Betriebsstätte – the address where the business is actually carried on – so give the address that reflects how your business operates. Your Olea address is a serviceable business address for your Handelsregister entry and Impressum.
